I completed my Ph.D. with a concentration in Biopsychology at Howard University in Washington DC. Since those days I've taught thousands of students in public and private universities/college and community audiences about normal and abnormal brain and behavior subject matter.

My scholarship has focused on the lived experiences of Black gender expansive and Black same-gender attracted persons.These human experiences have been understudied in cultural neuroscience, psychology, women, gender, and sexuality studies, history, and Africana studies.
